Soundspace was a multimedia, interdisciplinary live spectacle that combined image and sound, projection and music.
The heart of Soundspace was the Musicpainter, an imaging instrument that translated music into images. Daniel Christen accompanied the music live with the Musicpainter. These moving images were projected onto transparent screens throughout the space, so that the audience could not only hear the music, but also see it.
In addition, special sensors were attached to the instruments of the orchestra that influenced the projected images. The music became an interactive visual experience, in which image and sound were in a constant dialogue.
Works by Arvo Pärt, Antonín Dvořák, Johann Sebastian Bach, Philip Glass, Astor Piazzolla, etc. were performed.
